Motorized Racing

Motorized Racing

If the race involves any kind of machine powered by motors and as long as it is on land, then it falls under the category of motorized racing or motorsport.

Board track racing
It is also known as motordrome racing. It is a motorsport that made a lot of noise in the United States during the second and third decade of the 20th century. The race was held on oval race courses which had wooden-planks surfaces. Normally, the vehicle in the event is a motorcycle but the use of other racing automobiles was adapted.

Lawn mower racing
It is a motorized race where the participants ride lawn mowers which are modified into racing automobiles. Transforming a lawn mower into a power ride can be done by changing the gear ratio of the transmission. Since hydrostatic transmissions are not exactly suitable for speed increases, mechanical transmissions are favored. This is one motorsport that is open to all ages.

Ice racing
It is one of those races which are under the classification of motor racing. Cars, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), and snowmobiles are some of the vehicles used in this event. Since a cold weather is a must in order to create frozen lakes or rivers where ice racing is held, this sport is popular in places at higher latitudes such as Canada, northern United States, and northern Europe.
